HAIR CARE TIPS

THE BEAUTY, HEALTH, AND LONGEVITY OF YOUR RAW HAIR EXTENSIONS ARE STRONGLY DEPENDENT ON A PROPER HAIR CARE REGIMEN.

Unlike processed hair, raw hair requires more maintenance and care. Each strand of raw hair needs gentle attention and consistent conditioning to remain hydrated and healthy. Below are some helpful tips and guidelines to ensure you get the most out of your Southeast Asian raw hair extensions:

WASH YOUR HAIR BEFORE INSTALLING

It is highly recommended that you deep condition your extensions regularly, approximately every two weeks.

Because raw hair is cut directly from its donor, it lacks the natural nutrients it would normally receive, so it's essential to replenish those nutrients. This will help restore luster and extend the life of the hair.

We suggest using a hair mask to deep condition for optimal results.

BEFORE WASHING

-Always brush the hair thoroughly before washing to make it easier to manage when wet, no matter the texture.

-Use sulfate-free and paraben-free shampoo and conditioner.

-When detangling wet hair, always detangle with conditioner in the hair, starting at the tips and working your way up to the roots.

-For detangling, use a wide-tooth comb or a wet brush, especially for wavy and curly textures.

-Thick cream conditioners tend to work best with Southeast Asian hair.

AFTER WASHING

-Pat the hair dry with a towel to remove excess water and then brush through the hair with no product.

-Apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner to infuse moisture. Cream leave-in conditioners are highly recommended, but you can opt for no product as well if you prefer.

-Allow the hair to air dry naturally or use a hooded dryer for quicker drying.

-Avoid blow-drying as it may cause heat damage and strand breakage.

-Apply a small amount of hair oil daily—be cautious with the amount to avoid buildup, which can make the extensions stiff and lifeless.

-For curly or wavy textures, you may use a generous amount of leave-in conditioner to tame frizz and define the curls or waves.

-Always use a heat protectant when styling with flat irons or curling irons to reduce breakage. Argan oil or other oils can also be used as heat protectants.

BRUSHING AND COMBING

-For detangling and brushing, use a wide-tooth comb or a soft-tip paddle brush.

-To preserve the moisture and prevent breakage, sleep with a silk bonnet or satin scarf.

FOR CLOSURES & FRONTALS

-Always have your knots bleached by a professional stylist to ensure a flawless look.

-Avoid frequent brushing of the lace products, as this may loosen the knots and lead to increased shedding.

-Follow the care tips for wefted hair to maintain the health and longevity of your lace products.

If you plan to color your raw extensions, always consult with a professional colorist to achieve the best results without over-processing.
